In the absence of an feature to choose from, Parthiban kills the gangsters and puts his family in trouble. While Parthiban is in the middle of all this drama and commotion, two gangsters Antony Das (Sanjay Dutt) and Harold Das (Arjun) come into his life. They believe that Parthiban is actually their close family members, Leo Das (Thalapathy Vijay). Who is Leo Das? What did he do to him? How did Parthiban emerge from all this chaos? This is the main focus of the movie is about.

Cast

Thalapathy Vijay whose best know and popular actor in Tamil industries are come in this film. Also you’ve got new faces, and they all do a great job. Every character feels real, which makes the story even better. With all these talented people in the movie, it’s no wonder Varshal is going to be a big success. The cast delivers solid performances, with standing out in their roles.

Review

The first part of the film is quite entertaining. The pace is deliberately kept at a snail’s pace and the story isn’t rushed. The hyena sequence and the subsequent family drama transport us to parthiban’s world. There’s no rush in the story. The goal is to set up the character and world of the protagonist in a well-organized way. The film reaches its apex in the cafe fight scene.

Vijay’s vulnerability is beautifully depicted and thus the action scenes (first hour) provide a feeling of. Vijay isn’t just an actor, but is also an excellent actor. Leo shows off the talent of actor Thalapathy Vijay. Combat scenes in the first portion are staged well and Vijay’s performance combined with well-crafted action scenes keep the action interesting.

Its interval section is good and helps set up the scene for the next part. Leo is a great action film with some fantastic blocks as well as good cinematography. Trisha is excellent in her character. The film picks up speed during the pre-climax and final scenes. The film is part of LCU and fans of the franchise will get a chance to be cheered upon. There’s a slight surprise at the middle.

Weak Performances

The second half of a film is crucial in determining the scope of the film. But the majority of movies of the past have been suffering from the second-hour syndrome. Unfortunately, Leo also falls in the same category. The thing that is most surprising is how the flashback scenes are written. It’s not what you would expect from writing from an actor like Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has made amazing films.

The pace of the film is once again slow after the interval point and there isn’t much happening in terms of story. A few moments of action continue the action until the start of the flashback section that sabotages the overall quality of the film. Due to poor script, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun do not have much impression. In the end, the writing department is to be held accountable here.

Actors such as Priya Anand aren’t given anything to do with the film. The main character, an established actress appears in the second half of the film, is poorly created. The scenes intended for emotional moments lack impact. Telugu dubbing is good however that Naa Ready music is a huge disappointment. A Tamil song plays as background music in the cafe fight scene. It would be better to have used a Telugu song to make it to be a Telugu version. The smallest details like crucial paper cuts, and the details engraved onto a photo frame were written in Tamil. The smallest details can create the difference.

Behind the Scenes

Anirudh’s background score can be considered good in sections. But it’s not impressive when compared to his accurate works such as Master or Vikram. The songs too did not leave a lasting impression and this was due to poor translation. The cinematography of Manoj Paramahamsa is awe-inspiring. There’s an action block within the sequence of flashbacks and the camera’s movement was amazing in this scene. The editing is not up to par in the second hour, but it’s great during the first hour. The VFX worked well for the hyena scenes. For the car chase scene, the VFX work is not up to standard as the whole sequence is cartoonish.

When it comes to director Lokesh Kanagaraj managed to do well with Leo. Lokesh managed the first half well but he wasn’t able to carry the same energy in the second period. It’s no secret that we’ve seen the story several times before, however, what’s important is the way it is presented. Lokesh has established a high standard with his films, however his films didn’t live up to the expectations with Leo and it’s the same quality of product.

Trailer

Conclusion

In the conclusion, Leo is an action entertainment Tamil film that is heavily reliant on the acting by Thalapathy Vijay. The first part is enjoyable despite the slow pace, however, the film gets into problems once the second part begins. The flashbacks and the poorly-designed characters are the main negatives. Leo is component of LCU and has some moments for fans of the franchise to treasure. Lokesh Kanagaraj’s magic seems to be absent from Leo and the prospects for box office success of Leo depend on the renown Vijay Vijay as well as the LCU factor.
