“Gladiator II Box Office: Set to Beat $170M of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes”

Gladiator II is slowing down at the box office, but it is quickly closing in on surpassing the domestic earnings of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The film performed well during its 7th weekend and is also on track to outgross Beetlejuice Beetlejuice globally. Here’s the latest update on its box office performance.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Performance

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is the fourth film in the Planet of the Apes reboot franchise and one of the top-grossing films of 2024. Set many years after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes, this sci-fi movie had a production budget of $160 million. It earned $171.1 million in the U.S. and $397.37 million globally during its run.

Gladiator II Box Office Update

According to a report from Luiz Fernando, Gladiator II had another strong showing during its 7th weekend. It recorded the second-biggest 7th weekend for an R-rated film in 2024, with only a 34.5% drop from the previous weekend. Despite losing 117 theaters and being available online, the film continued to perform well.

Currently, Gladiator II is playing in 1,748 theaters and has earned $168.9 million in the U.S. It is now less than $3 million away from surpassing Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’s $171.1 million domestic total, which will make it the 13th highest-grossing film of 2024.

Gladiator II’s Global Earnings

Internationally, Gladiator II has grossed $280.8 million, bringing its worldwide total to $449.61 million. The film is just $2 million short of surpassing Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’s global total of $451.1 million, which would make Gladiator II the 11th highest-grossing film of 2024 worldwide.

Released on November 22, Gladiator II is now available online, continuing its box office journey as it climbs the charts.
