Identity Box Office Day 11: Worldwide Earnings

On Day 11, Identity reported an India net collection of ₹9.5 crores, with a gross collection of ₹11.21 crores. The film has also earned approximately ₹5.1 crores from overseas markets, bringing its total worldwide collection to ₹16.31 crores. While the film is receiving positive word-of-mouth, it still needs a significant boost in earnings to fully recover its budget and achieve the coveted hit tag.

Still Short of Recovering Its Budget

With a production budget of ₹12 crores, Identity is currently about ₹3 crores shy of breaking even. As of now, it has managed to recover 79% of its budget with ₹9.5 crores from India net collections. However, to secure a hit status, the film needs to cross the ₹20 crore mark, which is looking increasingly difficult given its slower box office trajectory. In fact, the film has already been overshadowed by Rekhachithram, starring Asif Ali, which became Mollywood’s first hit of 2025, managing to recover its entire budget in just three days with an India net collection of ₹11.36 crores, despite being released later than Identity.

About the Film

Directed by Akhil Paul, Identity features a stellar cast, including Tovino Thomas, Trisha Krishnan, Mandira Bedi, Vinay Rai, and Aju Varghese. The music is composed by Jakes Bejoy. While the film has garnered attention, it still faces an uphill battle to turn its decent performance into a definitive box-office success.
