She studied at the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Ambala Cantonment. In an interview with The Hindu, Parineeti said she was a brilliant student and had dreams of becoming an investment banker.
At 17, she moved to London and earned a triple honors degree in Business, Finance, and Economics from Manchester Business School in the UK.
Career
In 2009, due to the economic recession, Parineeti returned to India and shifted to Mumbai to live with her cousin Priyanka Chopra. During a visit to Yash Raj Films studio, where Priyanka was shooting Pyaar Impossible!, she introduced Parineeti to the head of the studio’s public relations team. Parineeti got an internship in the marketing department and started working as a public relations consultant.
She thought this was the perfect job because it matched her education and let her work in films. Interestingly, Parineeti didn’t like acting at first—she thought actors just wore too much makeup. But after observing actors closely, her views changed. She realized she didn’t fully understand acting before and grew to respect the profession.
Parineeti made her acting debut with a supporting role in the romantic comedy Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011), which did fairly well at the box office. She played the role of Dimple Chadda, a rich, spoiled girl from Delhi. Her performance received a lot of praise, earning her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
