Review
After a lengthy hiatus the fans are finally able to see Prabhas in a fully-fledged action film that is expertly presented by Prashanth Neel, who knows how to show his Herculean Prabhas in the manner people want.
Prabhas perfectly fits playing the character of Deva or Salaar and makes it difficult to imagine another actor playing the role. The character is largely dialogue-free however he is a ferocious character, which highlights his physique, speech delivery and his overall fan-friendly character. Prabhas is a maniacal, ruthless behaviour, especially during action scenes keep his viewers on the edge of their seats.
Prithviraj Sukumaran provides a good performance that adds a lot of richness to the production as affirmed by Prashanth Neel. His remarkable skills in Telugu and the captivating scenes with Prabhas add to the enjoyment.
The story has a significant impact in the beginning with Prashanth Neel’s signature racy sharp, and uplifting screenplay. Action scenes that are outstanding are supported by a nifty music. Some of the most memorable moments, like the climax, intermission and the elevations, add to the film’s popularity.
Weak Performances
The story is told at good pace throughout the beginning however, in the latter half, it would benefit by a more sophisticated narration. Certain scenes in the second half may evoke memories of KGF which could impact the originality of the film.
With a large ensemble actor, Prashanth Neel predominantly highlights actors such as Jagapathi Babu Bobby Simha, John Vijay as well as Sriya Reddy, ignoring others such as Brahmaji and Jhansi who could be more prominent in the later part of.
The apex of violence contained in this film could deter people with children from watching the film.
Behind the Scenes
Prashanth Neel once more proves his ability to direct, together basic scenes that increase the level of heroism. But an enlightened approach to the screenplay and story in the second part could enhance the overall story.
Ravi Basrur delivers a good job and his music assists in elevating certain scenes. Bhuwan Gowda’s cinematography has merits and the stunts of Anbarivu make a statement as the highlight. Although Ujwal Kulakarni’s editing might have been better crafted in the second half of the film The production quality is admirable.
Trailer
Conclusion
Overall, Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire is a thrilling action drama with an outstanding performance from Prabhas particularly in action scenes, and Prithviraj. The skillfully executed stunts add to the overall impact of the film. But the basic narrative, a slow second half, as well as the overuse of violence are some of the main negatives. If you’re a huge lover of Prabhas or like action-packed high-octane films, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is worth watching this weekend.
